Create & manage geofences

Geofences are virtual areas on the map. You can get notified when your device enters or leaves a geofence.

Create a geofence

Method 1: From the settings

1. Go to Settings and select "Manage geofences".
2. Tap the + icon.
3. Choose the shape, either Circle or Polygon (a freely drawn area).
4. Draw the area on the map.
5. Give the geofence a Name.
6. Tap "Save".

Method 2: Quick creation from the map

1. Select your device on the map.
2. Open the status card menu.
3. Select "Create Geofence".
4. A circle with a 100 m radius is created automatically around the current position, and you can adjust it right away.

Link a geofence to a device

1. Go to Settings, select your device and tap "Geofences".
2. Select the geofences that should apply to this device.

Notifications for geofences

To get notifications, turn them on under device settings, "Notifications". See the article Set up notifications.

Geofence as an energy saving zone

When you create or edit a geofence, you can turn on the option "Secure Zone (Energy Saving)". You find the details in the article Saving energy with geofences.
