Set up WiFi Energy Zones

Updated on 25 September 20261 min read

WiFi Energy Zones automatically reduce battery consumption when your device is within a known WiFi network, for example at home.

Note: This feature is only available for LV2 devices.

Set up a WiFi zone

  1. Go to Settings, select your device and tap "WiFi Energy Zones".
  2. Your device must be online.
  3. Tap "Scan WiFi Networks" to find available networks near the device.
  4. Select a network from the list.
  5. Give the zone a name (for example "Home").
  6. Tap "Add".

Your own WiFi does not show up in the scan? Our article Can't see your WiFi? shows you four simple solutions.

How does it work?

When your device detects the saved WiFi network, it automatically switches to energy saving mode. The tracking interval gets longer to save battery. When the device leaves the zone, it automatically returns to the normal interval.

Limitations

  • You can set up a maximum of 3 WiFi zones per device.
  • The device must be online to add or remove zones.
  • The zone is based on the MAC address of the WiFi router. That is why it also works with hidden networks.

Tip: With the Sync function on the same page, you can match the zones stored on the device with the app, for example after switching devices.
