Device does not appear on the map
If your device does not show up on the map, there are several possible causes.
1. Device has never connected
If you have only just added the device, it first has to connect to the server. This can take a few minutes.
- Make sure the device is switched on.
- Wait a few minutes and reload the page.
- Then take a short walk outside so the device can determine its first GPS location.
2. Device offline
A red "Offline" status means that the device has no connection to the server.
- Check the device's battery level.
- Make sure there is mobile reception where the device is.
- Try restarting the device.
3. Deep sleep mode is active
In deep sleep mode, the device only reports about once an hour and is offline in between. This is not a fault. The app shows you when the device is expected to report again. Details in the article Deep sleep mode.
4. No GPS signal
If the device is online but shows no position or an inaccurate one, it may have no GPS signal.
- Take the device outdoors. GPS often works poorly inside buildings.
- Wait a few minutes until the device has found satellites.
- If reception is weak, the status card shows the message "Weak GPS signal".
5. Subscription expired
Without an active subscription, the device is no longer located. Check the status under Settings, device, "Manage subscription".
