Set location intervals
The location interval decides how often your device sends its position to the server. A shorter interval means more up-to-date locations, a longer one means more battery life.
Change the interval
- Go to Settings, choose your device and tap "Location Intervals".
- Choose one of the six modes:
| Mode | Interval | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Very precise | Every minute | Location updates every minute for an especially detailed picture. Noticeably shortens battery life. |
| Precise | Every 2 minutes | High accuracy, ideal for active use. |
| Balanced | Every 5 minutes | Good compromise between tracking and battery life. |
| Energy Saver | Every 10 minutes | Longer battery life, less frequent updates. |
| Daily only | Once a day | One location per day. The device stays permanently connected to the mobile network and can be reached at any time. |
| Deep sleep | Every hour | Maximum battery life. The device is completely offline between reports. Only for LV2 devices, details in the article Deep sleep mode. |
Good to know
- The device confirms the change. If the server gets no answer, the old setting stays active.
- If the device cannot be reached right now, the change is queued and applied automatically at the next contact.
- Your walks are detected automatically, whatever interval you choose. For a particularly accurate route, you can start Walk mode.
- Live Mode is available at any time while the device is online, and afterwards it automatically returns to the interval you have set.
