Charge the battery & understand the battery level
The battery level in the app comes straight from your tracker. Here you learn how to charge correctly, how to read the display and what helps when the battery does not charge fully.
How to charge the tracker
- Attach the magnetic charging cable that came with the tracker to its charging contacts.
- Plug the cable into a 5 V USB power source, for example a phone charger.
- The LED on the tracker shows that it is charging.
Keep the tracker switched on while charging. Only then does it keep sending its battery level, and you can see in the app how far it has got.
How to read the battery level
The app always shows the value the tracker sent last. It only updates when the tracker reports in. In normal use that is every 2 minutes, in energy saving mode every 10 minutes and in deep sleep mode once an hour. If the tracker is switched off while charging, the old value stays until it reports again.
The battery does not get full
The tracker normally reaches 100 percent. If the display stops at, say, 93 percent, it is almost always one of these reasons:
- Charging was stopped too early. The last few percent can take a while, so leave the tracker on the cable a little longer.
- The tracker was switched off while charging. The app then still shows the value from before.
- The magnetic plug does not sit properly or the charger supplies too little power. Wipe the charging contacts dry, reattach the plug and try a different charger.
If the tracker does not charge at all although plug and charger are fine, write to us. We will look at the device together with you.
Make a charge last longer
- Choose a longer location interval if you do not need tracking to the minute.
- Set up a WiFi Energy Zone for home. As long as the tracker sees your WiFi, it saves power.
- For long breaks, for example when the tracker is not needed for a few days, there is deep sleep mode.
Reminder when the battery is low
Under notifications, switch on the Battery notification. The app then tells you when the battery is almost empty and when it is full again after charging.
